Disabled Access

Disabled access is a broad issue. Each building is unique and presents its own set of challenges. Some are subject to additional laws that restrict physical changes (e.g. historic or listed buildings). In these cases, the access solution must meet Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements but respect original building features.

In addition, companies and organisations must train its staff to operate and maintain equipment (e.g. platform lifts), and be aware of relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.

Bespoke needs

We supply platform lifts to suit most applications, but work mainly in three industry sectors:

  1. Schools
  2. Entertainment and leisure
  3. Public Services

The differing characteristics of these areas mean access requirements are often highly specific. For example, schools may require a key operated platform lift to prevent misuse. We are used to dealing with bespoke requirements and tailor platform lifts to suit the customer.

Further information

This section of the website contains articles of a general nature, including access tips on renovating historic buildings to comply with the DDA, and information on fire safety and evacuation procedures.

There are also three sub-sections, which cover schools, entertainment and leisure, and public services. Each features a selection of industry specific articles.
